January 2010 Prayer and Picture update

Dear family, friends and partners,

** Praise the Lord with us! – God has provided funds and we have hired a full time computer specialist for ObreroFiel.  We are also adding a part time person to help us get caught up with data entry work that is “piling up”.

** Praise the Lord with us! – The big Christmas concerts in Puebla we asked you to pray about last month went well.

** Praise the Lord with us! – we had a wonderful time together over the holidays as a family.  This year we enjoyed time together as a family– something we value as our kids get older and get ready to “leave the nest”.

The Yinglings’ Top 4 Prayer Requests for January 2010:

 1. Pray for  our house church that God would give us wisdom as we minister to these families and young people.

2. Pray for ObreroFiel as we work to (1) convert the site to a blog format for easier use— set to go live March 1, (2) develop a formal online discipleship course which we hope to launch before  June 1.

3. Pray for wisdom as we talk with a group of pastors from Fort Worth, TX about partnering with us in ministry here.  They will be visiting with us here in San Juan from Jan. 18-20

4. Pray for  Josiah as he takes a study trip to Israel.  He leaves Mexico Jan. 27 and returns on Feb. 17th.   Pray for safe travels and God’s leading as he considers his future.

May God bless each of you in this coming year,

 Scott & Ruth

Photo #1: Our little group standing in the central park in Puebla before the Christmas concert. The three fellows in the back were our special guests. Didier (our tennis coach friend), in the red glasses, is a believer. The other two coaches are not believers, but seemed to enjoy the concert very much. There was a total of 23 people from San Juan that attended the concert with us.

Photo #2: The “Coro Unido” Christmas concert in Puebla, Mexico. The clear gospel presentation was shared with thousands that attended the various concerts. We are amazed at the ability of our co-worker, Terry Vanderwerf, to pull these concerts together with such high quality music. The “living Christmas tree” with part of the adult choir and the hand bells are always favorites at these concerts.

Photo #3: Aron celebrated his 15th birthday with a houseful of friends. We ordered in a family favorite, tacos al pastor. The games and fellowship were so much fun that it didn’t stop until 6:00 the next morning.
